Citywalk is located between Universal two theme Parks, Universal Studios and Universal Islands of Adventure. It is a large entertainment complex with shops, restaurants and activities to do! A lot of the shops and restaurants are open all day, however it really comes into it’s own during the evening, where a lot of the entertainment starts. To get into Citywalk you don’t need a Universal Ticket, but you do need to pay for parking.
If you are after watching a film, there is the movie theatre with 20 screens showing all the latest movies. Often you can see the films before they come out in the UK. The box office opens around 12.30pm if you are looking to go there during the day. This can be a good place to go if you have a wet weather day and don’t want to walk around the park getting wet. If you want to combine a movie and meal deal these can be bought at the main foyer in the cinema.
Florida guide report - Universal Studios Citywalk
You really are spoilt for choice when it comes to restaurants – whether you want to grab breakfast on the way to the parks, lunch or a full blown dinner with entertainment, there is masses of choice. One of our favourites is Jimmy Buffets Margaritaville – at lunchtime it’s lovely to sit back on one of their ‘laid back’ chairs enjoying a cocktail, my favourite is a top shelf Margarita, and watching everybody else rushing between the parks! In the evening the restaurant is a really lively place to eat, the kids are entertained by stilt walkers who wander the restaurant making balloon sculptures for the kids. All the restaurants have plenty of activities going on (mainly music and shows) to keep the family happy.
At 10pm the live music starts and if you’re not too tired from all those rollercoasters during the day then you can party away until 2am.
There are plenty of clubs with different styles of music to choose from, so whether you’re into rock, Jazz, reggae or salsa, you’re bound to find something to get keep you entertained.
For the shopaholics there are lots of shops and places to purchase souvenir or two. There is a cigar shop with a bar, Fossil watch shop, clothes and sunglasses shops, The Island Clothing store, The Endangered Species Store, surf shop and a Starbucks.
There are boats that transport you from City Walk to the three Universal hotels, The Hard Rock, The Portofino Bay and The Royal Pacific Resort – so if you fancy dinner or drinks in one of the hotels then you can combine this with your visit to City Walk.
If going to Universal or Universal Islands of Adventure it is a great place to stop off and get a drink or food after a visit to the park. If staying out later to go to the clubs, why not arrive at the parks a little later and stay until late. Normally in the evening the parks are very quiet.
